Khalidiya
Water Tower
Public Park · Adaptive Reuse
A public park built around a decommissioned concrete water tower in Khalidiya. The tower is kept exactly as it stands and the ground around it is rebuilt as a sequence of water landscapes.
Falaj channels, shallow pools and a water play field step down from the mound, with shade canopies and an amphitheatre carrying the programme. At night the tower is lit, so the object that made the site obsolete becomes its landmark.

The competition brief kept the tank. Everything else on the plot was cleared, so the park is laid out to read the tower from every approach.

Water is the organising system, not a feature. A falaj line carries it down the slope and releases it into basins that shift from still to shallow to active as the ground drops.
Shade & Gathering
Canopies · Amphitheatre
Perforated canopies float over the entrance court, giving the park a shaded threshold before the landscape opens out.
